Why Berean?

In the New Testament book of the Acts of the Apostles, the residents of Berea (now known as Veria in northern Greece) are mentioned like this:

In Berea

As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Acts 17:10-12 New International Version – UK

The Bereans were characterised by:

  • their diligent examination of the written record of scripture, and
  • their noble character by aligning their lives to the pattern which they studied.

The character of the Bereans is the inspiration for this business!
